Founders of nextLAP Consulting
André Ziemke holds a master's degree in Business Engineering and has a strong entrepreneurial background. Dr. Thomas Stöckel has a master's degree in Computer Science and a PhD in Manufacturing Automation and Production Systems.
Until 2016
With extensive experience in digitalization, André and Thomas have led significant, company-wide digital transformation projects at Audi and Volkswagen. Notable achievements include introducing the paperless factory at the Audi plant in Ingolstadt and implementing SAP across all Audi Press Shops. As the former Head of Production IT for the Audi Group, André brings deep expertise in production technology and IT integration. Thomas played a crucial role in establishing the new Planning IT department for Audi, specializing in innovative IT planning solutions, IT/OT shop-floor solutions, and seamlessly integrating these systems.
2016 to 2018
André and Thomas further advanced their expertise by assisting Tesla in Fremont and Gigafactory 1 in Reno with the digitalization of their production processes. During this period, they developed "Smart Shelf," a SaaS cloud-based picking solution with specially designed IIoT hardware. Today, Smart Shelf is implemented in the automotive industry, including BMW's Leipzig and Berlin plants, and is serviced by nextLAP Inc., the US branch.
Since 2018
André and Thomas have been dedicated to guiding industrial companies through their digitalization journeys, marking the inception of nextLAP Consulting.
In 2022
André and Thomas co-founded SFN AG in Switzerland, a spin-off from the University of St. Gallen, focusing on mediating concepts and solutions for the Smart Factory.
